Recently we were asked to upgrade the FlickrUp module by Jose Reyero and Will White from Development Seed. The Stand Against Poverty website used FlickrUp last year when their site was built with Drupal 5 and they wanted this functionality again this year when their site was built on Drupal 6.

Teach them how to save cache

When a client ask for faster page loads one of the first things that we as Drupal developers can suggest is to enable caching. Basic Page Cache is something that Drupal provides out of the box, it's very easy to implement, and it has a drastic improvement on page load times.

Development workflow

I was recently thrown headlong into the middle of a project where the team developing the site was doing a good job, but due to the time constraints from the client, combined with the fact that there were only really two developers on the team with clearly defined roles (modules and theme), time had not been taken to setup a good development workflow that would promote happy (multiple) developers and therefore, a happy client.
